The Blue Ribbon Coalition is an organization that represents the interests of outdoor recreationists.  It strongly supports motorized recreation in and out of court.

The American motorcyclist supports motorcyclists and ATVers through their two organizations, AMA and ATVA.

ATVA -- All-Terrain Vehicle Association (www.atvaonline.com) is dedicated to increasing members' enjoyment of riding and owning ATVs by serving as a source of information about where and how to ride, products, events and racing, and by protecting and promoting the rights of ATV riders.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /> 

  

ASI – All Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute or ATV Safety Institute (www.atvsafety.org). Every all-terrain vehicle (ATV) club should have a link to ASI on its web site. ASI is a not-for-profit division of the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA). It was formed in 1988 to implement an expanded national program of ATV safety education and awareness. ASI's primary goal is to promote the safe and responsible use of ATVs. It also helps Boy Scouts, 4-H and other organizations develop safe ATV programs. Check out its web site to learn more about its rider training, instructors, a huge library of materials available and, of course, the Golden Rules of ATV Safety. 

  

AMA -- American Motorcyclist Association (www.americanmotorcyclist.com) is the world’s largest motorcycling organization. Through member clubs, promoters and partners, it sanctions more motorsports competitions and motorcycle recreational events than any other group. It advocates for motorcyclists' interests in the halls of local, state and federal government, the committees of international governing organizations, and the court of public opinion. Through its Motorcycle Hall of Fame, AMA preserves the heritage of motorcycling for future generations.  

  

ARRA -- Americans For Responsible Recreational Access (www.arra-access.com)  focuses on the wide spectrum of trail issues surrounding the “Crisis of Closure.” It works with the Administration and its agencies, Congress, local governmental representatives and most importantly, the citizens who care about maintaining access to public lands and waterways for outdoor recreational activities. Its monthly Washington Newsletter and alerts inform you of critical issues that affect access to public lands. 

  

AT -- American Trails (www.americantrails.org) -- is a national, nonprofit organization working on behalf of trail interests, including hiking, bicycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, water trails, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, trail motorcycling, ATVs, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. American Trails members work to create and protect America's network of interconnected trails and have as its goal a trail within 15 miles of every person.  

  

BRC -- BlueRibbon Coalition (www.sharetrails.org) is a national non-profit organization that champions responsible recreation and encourages a strong conservation ethic and individual stewardship, while providing leadership in efforts to keep outdoor recreation alive and well. With members in all 50 states, BRC is focused on building enthusiast involvement with organizational efforts through membership, participation in the administrative process, outreach, education and collaboration among recreationists. BlueRibbon helps lead the fight to protect OHV rights in the court systems. 

  

INOHVAA -- The International Off-Highway Vehicle Administrators Association (http://nohvcc.org/About/INOHVAA.aspx) is an organization founded by and for officials who manage OHV recreation in their areas. It promotes best management practices for recreational OHV use. The program managers can be on all levels: federal, state, county, municipals, or private areas, but the focus is on state level organizations. It holds an annual conference each fall in conjunction with NOHVCC. 

 

NOHVCC -- National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (www.nohvcc.org), as a national body of OHV recreation enthusiasts, develops and provides a wide spectrum of programs, materials and information, or “tools”, to individuals, clubs, associations and agencies in order to further a positive future for responsible OHV recreation. One of the strengths of the NOHVCC organization is its network of State and Associate State Partners - the enthusiasts who are out there working to try to make a difference and advance the NOHVCC mission.  NOHVCC is a nonprofit educational foundation.   

  

ROHVA* -- Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (www.rohva.org) promotes the safe and responsible use of recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs - what people are calling Side x Sides) that are manufactured or distributed in North America. ROHVA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to develop a standard for the equipment, configuration and performance requirements of ROVs. It is also the main educational group for ROV safety and training courses.  This not-for-profit is sponsored by Arctic Cat, BRP, Honda, John Deere, Kawasaki, Polaris and Yamaha. 

  

SVIA* --Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (www.svia.org), established in 1983, promotes the safe and responsible use of ATVs through rider training programs, public awareness campaigns and state legislation. SVIA also serves as a resource for ATV research, statistics and vehicle standards. Based in Irvine, CA, this not-for-profit trade association is sponsored by Arctic Cat, BRP, Honda, Kawasaki, KYMCO, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha.  

  

Tread Lightly! -- (http://treadlightly.org) Tread Lightly! and its partners lead a national initiative to protect and enhance recreation access and opportunities by promoting outdoor ethics. A member-based organization, it offers many programs, trainings and educational material to help educate recreationists across the nation on the importance of treading lightly. Through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Forest Service, it created the RIDE ON Designated Routes educational materials available to clubs, to help promote the importance of keeping motorized vehicles only on designated routes and areas open to motorized vehicle use.
